To All Members of Vietnam Veterans M.C. Gippsland Chapter,
Being a wife of a member from another motorcycle club, I was a bit apprehensive about going to your Chapter, however as soon as we arrived, your member & supporters made me feel instantly at ease and welcome. I would like to thank all members for your hospitality and a great night! I would advise anyone young, old, male or female who may be traveling through Longwarry/Drouin on a Friday night to call in and say hi to these Boys. There are two things I will continue to do while traveling your way, stop at the Robin-hood Hotel, and visit your chapter! I felt extremely safe and most of all welcome to come again. Your kind words regarding Leroy (RIP) were heart felt and sincere which I found to be something I had never experienced before, it was daunting to hear members from another motorcycle club talk so openly and warmly about somebody who wasn't one of their own! And you can be sure I will pass your messages onto Lou and other members!
During my visit to your chapter, the stories I was told and the pictures, medals and newspaper articles I was shown have taught me allot,.. Not only was your club a nice place to visit, but very educational and I think everyone should learn from men who experienced war first hand what you guys went through for the place we call home *Australia*. Its a bit of a shame that I learnt more about the soldiers that went to Vietnam at the age of 41 rather than a teenager at High School? Where has our education gone wrong? Now I know what the meaning of "Proud to be an Australian" really means!!!!
Thanks to T-Rat, Red-Gum and Buzz for allowing me to hear some of your stories and I look forward to visiting again! Also a big thanks to all your members for the chance to have a shot of "agent orange" with you guys and I promise next time I WONT drink mine before the toast hehehee, although I didn't mind HAVING to drink another one! I look forward to seeing you all at Geelong sometime in the future!
Stay safe and ride proud.
Nicky (1%ers wife & Proud Aussie).
